Yongkang Bing Zi Market

Here is nightmare of Young Kang district. you can see chicken intestines piled up to mountain shape, that's very disgust.and motor bike carrying stuff for customers, rush to road ignores any pedestrian and traffic signals. It is cheap a little bit, but do we have to risk our lives to come here?

Experienced a chicken meat stall who gave us the meat 2x higher than the original price per kilo and didn't even bothered to weight in our purchased meat. Since then, I have been keen observer to other meat and fish stalls. Never coming back to that lady who fooled us. For me, that day I lost money but that lady lost her credibility.

I like this market. It is very big, a lot of different food. They have a lot of vegetable, fruit, fresh fish, seafood, second hand clothes (price is 20-399NT) - you can find very nice clothes for very good price. You can find also some not often seen food like walnuts, almonds, pomegranade, different kinds of seaweed and so on. Today we found little store, where every item costs only 20NT, they had some plates, bowls, toys and house equipment. Some sellers speak little bit english, others only chinese, but it is not too difficult to communicate there with very basic chinese :) One disadvantage is the fact, that a lot of people there use scooters, so the air smells bad and it is sometimes little bit difficult to walk there between them. I really don't know, why they can't park outside and walk the small distance by foot, it would be much better :) Also maybe some people would not buy meat or food there because of hygiene, but I think this place is similar with all other places in Taiwan, so don't worry :)

Fantastic place. Really demonstrates the local color of Taiwan. Great local produce selection at awesome prices. Wish we can have a market like this where I live. People of Yongkang are very fortunate.

It’s a nice and cheap day market and locals always come here. But there’re so many motorcycles and tracks here be careful when you come here ??

Not sure how to review this place as a raw vegan. Anyway I'll start with why to go here: you can find really cheap food here from fruit, vegetable to meat and sea food (vegetables and meat prevails). Traditionally some stalls are cheaper then the other so don't buy the things you need at the first stall you see. If you go late the prices of some food is going even lower. I am frutarian and I go here to buy fruit everyday and there is a wonderful place for getting fruit right in the beginning of the market (coming from the South). And now why I didn't like this place: it's a really crowded. There is more motorbikes then people who walk and it just annoying and dangerous at the same time. The people on their vehicles are really rude and most of the times they are the seller who stay here. The smell of the meat and seafood could get really bad and you can smell it almost everywhere, so if you are vegan I don't recommend to come here, or prepare your stomach for it.
