Yongle Elementary School was originally the West Campus of Taiping Elementary School. Taiping Elementary School was founded in July 1896 (29 years of the Meiji era) and is one of the oldest national elementary schools in Taipei. In 1930 (Showa 5), ​​the old school building on the west bank was allocated to the newly established Taipei Yongle Public School. The predecessor of Yongle Elementary School was the Taipei Mandarin School, which was founded in July 1896 (29 years of the Meiji era). In November 30, Meiji (1897), it also established the B-students, the predecessor of the public school, and set up a branch in the five chomes of Yongle Town. In 1898 (Meiji 31), the National Language Institute and branch schools were abolished. The school was established in accordance with the rules of the Japanese Emperor’s Decree No. 178 Taiwan Public School and the Order No. 78 Taiwan Public School. In October 31, Meiji On the 1st (1898), Dadaocheng Public School was established. In 1909 (Meiji 42), due to the construction of Yanping North Road, the campus was divided into two, and the East Campus established Dadaocheng First Public School (now Taiping Elementary School). In April 1910 (Meiji 43), Dadaocheng Women's Public School was established in the West Campus (the current site of the school), which was the predecessor of the current Penglai Elementary School. In June 1917 (Taisho 6), the school building of Penglai Elementary School was inaugurated and Dadaocheng Women's Public School was relocated; the original site of this school was changed to exclusively accept boys, and it was renamed Dadaocheng Second Public School, which is the predecessor of today's new elementary school. . In September 1920 (Taisho 9), the school building of the New Japan Elementary School was completed, and Dadaocheng No. 2 Public School was relocated. In April 1925 (Taisho 14), Daqiao Public School was established on the original site of this school, and it moved to the site of Daqiao Elementary School in September the following year.
