Major temple of luzhou, pack to the roof during festivities!

I visit there once other week. The environment is great and if you are a Taoist, this is an important and a must-visit temple.

Very nice Temple surrounded by market so food is no problem. Within 10 minutes walk from MRT.

A famous landmark of Luzhou. It is historical temple that combined local market. You will see Avalokitesvara and many different gods inside. A peaceful place.

I really like this place, not because I’m a buddhist, but because their place is so unique especially their sculptures on the wall. You also can buy some charms or talismans for such as luck, love, money (wealth), health, education, and etc.

The temple worships both Buddhist and Taoist deities. Temple building is relatively new, and it provide worship incense and religious paper free to the worshippers. The temple is popular for the locals, especially for the local vendors of Luzhou Miaokou (Temple Gate) Market. Because it is located within Market, it is also popular for the shoppers. Temple worships Budisavers on the main floor, which is the second floor. It also worships Buddha at the third floor, and it claims to be a golden Buddha, which has a special Buddha Hall worship time of 08am to 05pm daily. Various Taoist deities are also worshipped at the 3rd and 4th floors. On my most recent February 2022 visit, the gold statute of the sitting Bodisavers still impresses me for its artist sculpture and gentle posture. Temple has relatively beautiful wood religious sculpture on its ceiling at the main floor and has a few collection of parade deities artifices at the main floor. Temple seems to be financially sound for fund raising through various worship activities, such as "bai-dao" (worship Taoism) which requires a minimum of NTS 12,000 (about US$ 400). In October 2018, the Temple donated about NTS 600 million dollars or about US$ 20 millions to New Taipei City for charity activity funding. Temple does have tall air pollution control pipe for its religious paper burning station. The Temple generally holds special religious ceremony and activities on February 19 and September 18 (also parades) every year and October 15 every 3 years on farmer calendar. The temple is located at Luzhou Miaokuo Market, and it can be reached by taking Taipei MRT Subway Yellow (O) Line and getting off at Station "O 53", Sanmjn Senior High School Station. Walking distance from Exit 1 of the Subway Station to the temple is about 5 to 7 minutes. There are narrow sidewalks along the road before entering Luzhou Miaokuo Market, but there are numerous motorcycles use narrow road space with shoppers at the same time when visitors arrive at the Market area.

Yonglian Temple does not draw the foreign tourist crowd seen at some of Taipei's better known religious sites, but its importance to local citizens cannot be overstated. When visiting, it is helpful to have a guide if unfamiliar with temple etiquette and the Chinese language. The famous gold statue of the Bodhisattva Kuan-Yin is on the third floor. It was built at a cost of more than 4 billion NT$. This temple donates massive amounts of disaster relief aid.
