I was an American exchange student here back in 2014. This was and always will be my favorite school. I came to this school with no understanding of the world, but when my time came to leave, I felt I had learned so much. I carry all the experiences I learned from here with me everyday and I miss all my professors dearly.

Here’s a review for Erasmus students. Don’t worry and come! I studied in the management department and I liked Taiwanese educational system much more than European. Every class is built on in class activity and group projects, the only disadvantage is that you can’t skip the classes, because every time you must work with your team members. I advise you to build a team with European students, because locals don’t have an experience in projects and it’s much easier to work with Europeans. Exams are not so stressful, they have mid terms in April and final exams in June. All professors speak English very well, some of them studied in America and teach us with American student books. Hence, some classes are more interesting than in Europe. The difficulty depends on the teacher, just read the syllabus and you will understand what’s needed. The campus is extra beautiful, gardeners take care of it and put flowers and clean roads. Here you have one convenience store that us open till 23:00 and around 10 different restaurants. They have gym and swimming pool, altogether it costs only 700ntd for the semester. The library here is great, very modern. But the worst thing is that locals don’t really speak English, so you will never integrate in the culture. They will be too shy to even try to approach you. The area is very safe but you will be bored at the town, there’s nothing to do here, no clubs, no shopping centers. So students just go to the gym or travel haha. I wish school offered some activities or parties.... but unfortunately you must entertain yourself. You can choose the outside dormitory (takes 20 mins) or the inside one (takes 10 mins). The outside dormitory is nice, the coolest thing is that you live alone, you have your own fridge. In the in campus dormitory you’ll live in four, so it depends on who will be with you. Taiwanese ppl are okay, but can be super noisy. Mine don’t speak English so we don’t talk. In the female dormitory we have a terrible kitchen and you won’t want to use it. Also you must have your own mattress and pillows, better buy it outside in Carrefour. If you live in campus, during the lunch break you can come home and sleep or chill, it will also take 1-2 minutes to get to the restaurants area. But if you choose the outside dormitory you won’t have time to do that. That’s probably all that you need to know. Have fun in Taiwan:)
