赤道原則(The Equator Principles)為赤道原則協會(The Equator Principles Association)2003年所發佈對於重大專案融資的環境與社會風險評估框架，為金融機構提供一套融資過程中用以確定、評估和管理專案所涉及的環境和社會風險的基準。元大銀行為落實企業永續發展的承諾，於109年10月8日正式成為赤道原則協會會員銀行，並遵循赤道原則10項原則。赤道原則協會網站 https://equator-principles.com/
依照赤道原則規範，會員機構應針對適用之專案融資及專案相關一般貸款，按潛在的環境社會風險和影響程度分為高(A)、中(B)、低(C)三類，並依不同風險級別的專案開展不同程度的環境和社會風險審查，藉以減緩中、高風險案件對環境與社會衝擊，且透過赤道原則承諾條款規範與每年定期監測貸後管理項目，確保案件執行符合赤道原則。
配合赤道原則規範，元大銀行於109年11月完成制訂「辦理赤道原則融資案件管理要點」及相關作業流程，並以任務編組方式成立「環境社會風險小組」，負責授信案件之環境社會風險評估、審查及監測，適度降低潛在案件所帶來之環境與社會衝擊，並促使客戶重視環境保護與社會責任。
為使各單位熟悉赤道原則相關機制與新增表單，全面落實赤道原則政策，元大銀行於109年11月底及12月中各舉辦一場大型教育訓練，委請外部顧問針對環境社會風險小組、審查單位及業務單位辦理教育訓練課程，深化同仁對於環境社會風險的認知與掌握。未來亦將不定期辦理相關課程，以期在承諾遵循赤道原則之際，降低重大專案融資案件對環境與社會造成之不利影響，並促使授信對象於經營上能重視環保與企業社會責任。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 已事先打過元大客服，可以臨櫃申請辦理才到現場處理，還被說什麼都不知道不了解，給人的感覺極差，線上辦理也不通過，辦理人員又是這種態度，往後有任何優惠絕不申請元大。
I have called Yuanta customer service in advance, and I can apply for it at the counter before going to the scene for processing. I am also told that I don’t know what I am saying, which makes people feel extremely bad, and the online processing does not pass. You will never apply for Yuanta after any discount.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The wait is never longer than 15 minutes, even at peak times. The teller remembers me and gives a warm welcome. Other Yuanta branches have nothing on this one!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I wish I could write something positive about this bank, but I have had nothing but negative experiences dealing with this financial institution.
First of all, I realize that Yuanta is a Taiwanese financial institution, and that 99%(+) of their customers are Mandarin speakers. But, the bank does have more than a few foreign customers, and the fact that they have ZERO English-speaking customer service representatives is baffling to me. This is especially concerning, because Yuanta also serves as a Western Union transfer site.
Second, waiting to speak with a bank teller is a time-consuming process that requires a minimum of 30 minutes. How can a bank that values its customers treat them so poorly?
Third, Yuanta ATMs will not recognize cards from other countries, even those with a Visa logo. I have tried this with multiple Yuanta ATMs, and have gotten the same result. With other banks, such as ChinaTrust, there are never any issues.
Dealing with Yuanta has been a frustrating experience from start to finish, and I would never recommend their service to anyone considering switching over. Find a friendlier, more foreigner-friendly institution that values ALL customers.
