It is a world-class wetland located at the estuary of Zengwenxi, starting from Dingtou Eshazhou Guosheng Lighthouse (Qigu Lighthouse), Nandi Dike and Qigu Haipu Dike in the north, Qingcaolun Dike on the south bank of Zengwenxi in the south, and Provincial Highway No. 17 in the east. Guoxing Bridge) is the boundary, from the west sea area to the depth is 6 meters, with a total area of 3,218 hectares. Zengwen River originates from the Ali Mountain Range. Its main tributaries are Houhou River, Cailiao River and Guantian River. The drainage area is about 1,176 square kilometers and the main stream is about 138 kilometers long. The mouth of Zengwenxi in southwestern Taiwan has become a habitat for various levels of biota due to the rich nutrients brought from the upper reaches. From October every year, black-faced spoonbills are attracted to fly from South Korea and other places for winter. Zeng Wenxi is located in southern Taiwan and is the fourth longest river in Taiwan. It belongs to the central management river. Zeng Wenxi originated from Dongshui Mountain in Alishan Township, Chiayi County[1]. It flows through Nanxi District, Yujing District, Da Nei District, Shanshang District, Shanhua District, Guantian District, Madou District, Anding District, Xigang District, Chigu District, and finally between Annan District and Chigu District. It flows into the Taiwan Strait, with a total length of 138.5 kilometers and a drainage area of 1,176.7 square kilometers. The source is 2,440 meters above sea level. Its main tributaries are Tanaiku River, Puyanu River, Caolan River, Houhou River, Cailiao River, Guantian River, etc. . In history, Zeng Wenxi changed lanes frequently and was dubbed by residents as "green snakes." After the completion of the embankment in the 13th year of Showa (1938), the river tended to be fixed. Zengwen Reservoir (top left), Wushantou Reservoir (bottom left), Nanhua Reservoir (top right) and the meandering river course of Zengwen River (bottom right). Tainan City often uses Zeng Wenxi as the boundary to divide the Xibei and Xinan areas. The Xinan area resembles a metropolitan area, centered on the city under the jurisdiction of Tainan Province; Xibei is closer to the countryside. The central settlement is Xinying, the seat of the former Tainan County Government. It is closely related to the Chiayi Metropolis in terms of living circle and culture. Zengwenxi has rich hydropower resources. The Zengwen Reservoir, the largest reservoir in Taiwan, is located in the upper reaches of Zengwenxi. In addition, on the tributaries of Zengwenxi, there are Nanhua Reservoir and Wushantou Reservoir. In addition to water supply and power generation, they have also become important Tourist attractions. In addition, because Zengwenxi carried sand and gravel and biological debris deposited in the estuary, providing a large amount of nutrients, it has nurtured abundant benthic and plankton in the estuary area, and also attracted a large number of waterbirds to inhabit here. The famous black-faced spoonbill, a rare bird, lives on the north bank of the Zengwenxi River estuary, so the Chigu black-faced spoonbill protection area is set up. The eighth national park in Taiwan, Taijiang National Park, also includes the Zengwenxikou. In the Dutch period, Zeng Wenxi was recorded as "River Soulang" (小垅溪) on ancient European maps, and also known as "Zant River" (沙河). According to the "Zhuluo County Chronicles", the section from Zeng Wenxi upstream to Shizilai (in Ouchi District) was called "Wanli Creek", the section from the west to Xiaolongdu was called "Jaba Creek", and then to the west. The section to the sea is called "Owangxi". As for the origin of the name "Zeng Wen", there is a record in Lian Heng's "Ya Tang Collection" that a person named "Zeng Wen" was reclaimed here and set up a ferry during the Dutch period, which gave the creek its name. The book "The Rivers of Tainan" believes that after Zeng Wenxi's diversion in the third year of the Daoguang era (1823), an important ferry "Jianmen Ferry" appeared on the stream, and Wanli Creek was renamed Jingmen Creek. Later, due to the similar pronunciation, it was recorded as "Layer Men" and later became "Zeng Wenxi"
