★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 淡水同治李嗣鄴，任內召集周邦正，姜秀鑾合組金廣成懇號，拓墾北埔、峨眉、寶山三鄉合稱大隘三鄉。
境內有生番三十餘社，盤踞其間其中最強悍者有錢、朱、夏三姓，錢姓住今之峨眉鄉一帶;朱姓據今之北埔;夏姓在今之峨眉鄉一帶。
Tamsui Tongzhi Li Siye, called Zhou Bangzheng and Jiang Xiuluan together to form the Jin Guangcheng Ken, and the three townships of Beipu, Emei and Baoshan were collectively called the Three Townships of Da'ai.
There are more than 30 Shengfan clubs in the territory, among which the most powerful ones are Qian, Zhu and Xia. The Qian surname lives in the area of today's Emei Township; the surname of Zhu is based on today's Beipu; the surname of Xia is in the area of today's Emei Township.
