The chicken rice is super delicious! I thought we’d be disappointed when we came back the second time (because expectations), but damn it tasted just as good. And it’s super cheap too!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super good chicken oil rice~ fragrant chicken oil coats white rice and is topped with soft shredded chicken. The sauce itself is light and aromatic and a balanced blend of sweet and savory. For 35/nt a bowl and super fast serving speed, it's a definite must try!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Michelin for 35nt? Have to try it right? I really like the Ningxia night market... It's near Dihua one of my favorite hoods in Taipei and the market is not super big and crowded like some others. The famous chicken rice I didn't think was anything special... I actually preferred the pork rice which was creamy fatty with flavor. The service there was nice and friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not bad - Michelin Bib Gourmand list. Pretty value for money too, although I personally don't see how much it differs from the usual shredded chicken rice. Will just come back if I am around the area though, service was pretty efficient and didn't have to wait too long during peak hours.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just got on the Michelin recommended list for night market vendors. The turkey meat was pretty good, but the rice was the winner, just the right texture. The sauce was a bit salty and it lacked that turkey oil flavor. However, for $30, it was high CP. The tofu and vegetables were both good!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hard to miss michelin eatery for Taiwanese pricing. Lines start on the outside lane of the night market. Line moves fast so they even accommodated our stroller. Very local dining environment as mosquitoes feast on your ankles and you step on wet ground (no rain...). But food was good. We really liked the chicken rice and the braised pork rice. The spinach and tofu was enjoyable too. All for a mere 140 NT. Don't miss the scallion egg, every other table had it but we were too full.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When it comes to shredded chicken rice, people usually have different preferences. Take Chiayi, the place best known for this rice, for example, each Chiayi person has its own favorite.
Here at Fangchia, while some criticize that there’s no enough chicken, the sauce itself is so sweet and tasty, while not too greasy, that I can have entire portion of rice with pleasure. In terms of its chicken, it is just average. It’s a bit dry, so without the sauce I believe I won’t be able to have the chicken. But here’s the magic of the sauce, the sauce really makes the total package alive!
