★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Alright folks. This is it. The best and most authentic Taiwanese buffet in all of Taiwan. This gets my ultimate stamp of approval. The food is fresh and laid out right in front of you straight from the kitchen. You point, no not say, even Taiwanese people just point; and the gorgeous, delicious, mana-from-heaven gets slapped down onto your tray. They have something for everyone. Heaps of fresh vegetables if you're on a diet! Tofu for the vegetarians! Fried chicken for the meat eaters. I've been going there for four years and have lived in Taiwan for 13, I know what I'm talking about. EAT. AT. THIS. PLACE. PEOPLE.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 紫飯好吃。(Chinese buffet. A good place to go if your Chinese isn't that good. You can practice asking for what you want, and just point if that fails. You get to see exactly what it is you're going to eat. I recommend paying extra for the purple rice. Also choose the streaming hot dishes if you want the freshest fare. Although I have had some of the last scraps if my favorite was almost finished, and it's not killed me. Colorful food all round. You may find: fried eggplant, carrot with egg, beans, broccoli, spicy chicken, sweet and sour pork, fish, pumpkin. I think the soup was included. Recently refurbished, but food still as good as before.)

When it comes to rating a place like this, it's important to note the difficulty of making every dish tasty and distinctive at the same time, which is commonly found lacking in many but not Songbo.
