★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wanted to try the thick noodles, so I had the beef broth noodles soup (75NT$), which was OK, nothing very special. The vegetable boiled dumplings (side dish, 10 for 60 NT$) were very tasty. Eating here is resonably priced, the place is not close to the station and filled with locals. Menu and staff do not speak English, so make sure you understand some Chinese or you won't know what you're ordering!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The beef noodle soup with tomato tastes ok, not the best. The mu-shu noodle is good, albeit a little greasy. We also ordered 2 tasty side dishes. The total cost? About $11 US dollars, just slightly more than one third of what I would have to pay in Houston Chinatown for the exact same food. It's a great value for decent food and fast services.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Popular with locals although less of the tourists, this noodle shop is clean and bright, offering delicious noodles in a comfortable, air conditioned environment. They do offer an English menu for foreigners though.
Their knife cut noodles were tasty - even if perhaps not the best I’ve had in Taipei. But the broth for the beef noodle soup was rich, the beef well prepared and not too fatty. And their 木須 (mu shu) stir-fried noodles were wonderful - especially after adding a dollop of the spicy sauce offered in the self-serve station. It was so insanely good, I couldn’t stop eating the dish!
Definitely a shop worth visiting if you’re in the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best noodle shops around the Taipei Municipal Library! It is about 5min of walk from the library, and has been around the neighborhood for years. The fried shredded noodles with pork is their signature, which is the first item on the menu.
There is free wintermelon beverage and iced water, which customers can serve themselves with out of a dispenser. The side dishes and cutlery is also self service. Avg spend per person is around $100-150 since most noodle dishes are over $100, and side dishes are $30.
The food tastes good but can be a bit greasy afterwards. Noodle soup or dumplings will be a better choice if you would like to have lighter food.

Noodles we ordered tasted pretty good, the noodles were made well, the soup base could be a improved a bit, but the dry noodles was excellent.
Portion size was pretty big, good value for money.
