★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A famous Yilan restaurant featuring urn chicken. Service is great and the food is served incredibly fast. Make sure you eat the chicken with your hands (gloves provided) and try all the fresh vegetables.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've been another outlet of Weng Yao Ji in Taichung which was ok but this one is definitely better. Still packed full on a late Monday afternoon so you can just imagine it gets really busy on weekends.
This chicken was amazing! Super crispy skin, juicy and hints of the longan wood they use. There's hints of cumin also in the marinade/brine.
Another dish to definitely get is the fried Shrimp. I ordered by showing a Google photo from another review and it was great. Perfect with beer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of my favorite places on the East coast. The roasted chicken is absolutely delicious. It’s better to make a reservation during meal hours since the place can be pretty packed. If you’re in Yilan, don’t forget to add this place on your list!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Remember you’re here for the chicken, not the service or ambience. And this is one well roasted chicken. Crispy skin on the outside, tender meat on the inside. About as good as it gets anywhere. Whole chicken for $650 serves 3-4 people with other dishes. Lots of copycats around - make sure you go to the right one (with thumbs up chicken at the door)
PS - no more free bamboo soup

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had dinner with my family in the restaurant on August 20, 2021. And we ordered NT 1,000 set meal. There are a plate of fried cabbage, a roast chicken, a bamboo shoot soup, and a special dish called Kueh. It seems plentiful meals. However, the meals are a little bit salty and greasy for me.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited during Chinese new year 2022, food was good, place is very spacious. The whole roasted chicken is their speciality and it was delicious. Probably not a big difference than other roasted chickens but nonetheless it was still good. Other dishes were also great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An iconic place for roasted chicken in Jiaoxi. Recommended for groups like 4 or more to try more items in the menu. The food is generally good but maybe they really need to improve or upgrade their tableware and the environment. Price is decent and free parking is available.
