★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Finally! So glad to have a nice second hand store in Taipei. It's fun to dig. They filter clothes trendy-ness. Got a Kate Spade wallet (with a small stain) for $250 NTD.
I wish they'd add more mirrors and a few more changing rooms. It's hard to try things on.
There are a lot of negative reviews because customers who sell items to 2nd St. feel like they should get a better rate. It's a lot of work to open a store of this size! If there is more demand for second hand clothes then maybe they will pay more for your clothes. Simple economics. Supply and demand. Support this store and demand will go up !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Context: I used to be a frequent thrifter when I was living in the States, and I often sold and bought from thrift stores ranging from Buffalo Exchange to smaller, vintage ones.
12/21:
I am giving this place 5 stars for the service. I'm used to SAs inspecting and giving me a price directly in front of my face. However, they had told me it would take an hour or so. They gave me a nunber, and It ended up taking about 30 minutes (little less).
I had about 16 pieces in total, and they took 15.
My primary goal in selling clothes to 2nd street is to de-clutter, so I wasn't looking for a coin or five. They were pretty meticulous and explained briefly why they took some items and didn't.
Buying experience 12/14:
I'm a little confused though because I found a wool blend grey Nike sweater with a faded brown smudge stain on the shoulder. I had asked if it could be washed out potentially. For example, makeup stains can, but I wasn't sure what stain this was. I was met with a cold, lowkey rude response where the SA put her arms to her side and asked "so...?"
Overall:
As a seller, it isn't really that worth it to sell here, which docks a full star. Unless you really are looking to declutter, then to for it.
Wages are so low in Taiwan, yet their prices don't seem to reflect at all a "real" thrift store. However, there are moments when you can find something cute.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Inexperienced and incompetent staff. I sat for ten minutes waiting for someone to help me out with my clothes, no one came. I had to go call an employee to help me out. I give out my clothes and they told me to wait 4 hrs as they needed to inspect my clothes. I come back to them giving me 51 NTD. Trust me sell the clothes yourself, donate them, or give them away to someone who might make better use of them.
This store is a scam!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They were very kind to me , but my clothes Was never worn or maybe once ….brands like Zara & Anne Klein, even with the price tag ? and they just offer me around 400nts for 10 pieces of course I bargained but definitely I think they ripped off people.
Better sell it to The Taipei Thrift I think ( they have IG) or sell it at FB , but what they offer to buy from you is kinda an slap in your face.
The items they have are nice , but pricey.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This store is a ripoff. I brought many of my clothes since I’m leaving Taiwan there’s a lot of things I’m not taking with me. Most of my clothes were in good condition not to say excellent, some even had the tags on. For 70 pieces they gave me 700 nts.
They sell each piece for more than 100nts and they take yours for nothing ! How is that possible !? I recommend you selling the items by yourself or even donating them to someone that really needs it. They make so much money taking advantage of you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2nd Street stores in Taiwan are a ripoff and don't expect to find any bargains here. I have been in the fashion business my entire life and have visited more truly authentic 2nd hand and vintage stores around the world. I was editing my closets last week and decided to use their buying plan. 95% of what I wanted to sell was either never worn, a gift or very slightly worn, no soiling ,spots or stains. All were from designer brands, Polo Ralph Lauren, Hermes, Donna Karan, DKNY and Alexander McQueen. I called in advance to some of their stores asking if they take these brands they all said yes and then I asked which one stores offer to buy. I packed 3 big bags see picture driving to the Xinyi shop. Since the store is small and crowded with lots of inventory I carried one bag in first.
The staff ignored me until my Taiwanese partner met me in the shop. They explained clearly so we proceeded to unpack one bag. One male staff examined every item in silence which took over 1 hour moving items he inspected from a table to a shelf then back to the same table then back into the bag. He finally spoke:
1/ "We cannot accept Hermes ties". So I asked then why waste time inspecting my 7 Hermes ties? No answer. They did accept 2 Polo Ralph Lauren ties which was strange since they rejected everything else from Polo.
2/I then asked why waste time inspecting every other Polo item? His answer was " the company rule is only if they have a Japanese label". I then asked why would they need a Japanese label if they are being sold in Taiwan? No answer.
3/My Alexander McQueen lambskin coat with a detachable fox hood (original cost NTD 115,000) was examined carefully and not accepted with the same answer "it must have a Japanese label". At that point I just gave up asking any questions and not bringing in the other 2 bags of items to sell to waste more time.
4/They bought 1 hat, 2 Polo ties and 1 Donna Karen sweater for a total of NTD 1837 which included a 10% bonus on their app.
2nd Street like any other retail store are entitled to mark-up whatever % they want to pay for rent, overhead operations, staff, advertising and make a profit. Most of the prices are too high and expensive for 2nd hand clothes especially in Taiwan where we have so many outlet stores. The staff I met in Xinyi are not very professional, need training in customer service and retail selling. I have shopped in 2nd Street stores all over Japan for many years and their prices and customer service are great but not in Taiwan.
