★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 新埔一帶保存完整的客家夥房, 位在劉氏雙堂屋與義民廟之間的義民路旁。參訪時居住在夥房旁的林氏族人很親切也熱心地介紹林家祖先經營菸店的歷史及建築特色。 彩繪、泥塑、木雕、牆上書畫等作工精細, 牆面佛(天公爐)、土地龍神、化胎、橫屋旁的矮牆等建築也讓人感受到濃厚的客家特色。因為是私人住宅, 參訪拍照前最好先詢問並徵求同意; 此外公廳是祭祀祖先的場所, 記得進入時保持輕聲及尊敬的態度。
The well-preserved guest house in Xinpu is located on Yimin Road between the Liu's double hall and Yimin Temple. During the visit, the Lin clan who lived next to the house were very kind and enthusiastic to introduce the history and architectural characteristics of the Lin family's ancestors operating the tobacco shop. The paintings, clay sculptures, wood carvings, paintings and calligraphy on the wall are finely crafted, and the buildings such as the Buddha on the wall (Tiangong furnace), the earth dragon god, the tyre, and the low wall next to the horizontal house also make people feel the strong Hakka characteristics. Because it is a private residence, it is best to ask and ask for permission before visiting and taking pictures; in addition, the public hall is a place to worship ancestors, remember to keep a gentle and respectful attitude when entering.
