軟橋福德祠

The inhabitants of the Qing Dynasty began to cultivate this land. At that time, it was rich in flowers and plants (that is, Pengcao). The villagers used flowers and plants to sell, and cultivated land for farming, rice, tea, etc. to make a living. On a certain day in the third year of Guangxu, the villagers were unable to work due to a sudden illness. In the evening, an old fairy gave instructions in his dream, telling him how to gather medicine and how to eat it. The villagers woke up before dawn, followed his instructions to gather medicine, and took the medicine according to the method. The next day everyone was well. Many people recovered from the illness after taking the medicine three times. Everyone was extremely grateful after the illness. They placed the simple Bogong Shi Li at the place indicated by the ancestor in the dream. In the 25th year of Guangxu (1899), it was converted into a small Bogong Temple. . Under the protection of Uncle Gong, everyone lived in peace from now on. In the twenty-ninth year of Guangxu (1903), everyone's life became more stable, and the wooden Fude Temple was rebuilt. In 1949, it was rebuilt into a concrete temple for Fude. In addition to the "Federal God", the main deity also worships the three emperors, Guanyin Bodhisattva, princes, city gods, and righteous people. The temple has no statues of gods but only the memorial tablets, the middle is the god of merit, the right is the gods such as Chenghuangye, and the left is the emperor of the three officials. There are three incense burners in the middle, left and right, standing in front of the gods, for people to burn incense and worship. (Zhudong Town Records, 2011)
