外面是北新竹站，火車的聲音在關上窗戶後還可以接受。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 小型社區，格局普通，多以一到兩房為主。對面有竹中車站，火車進出站時都很吵，尤其是柴油列車，停很久又特別大聲。進出站的人都是附近的居民為主，因此人潮不會帶來錢潮，附近的商家生意也都很普通，因此店面都還沒租出去。旁邊的竹科主人社區，店面也都是空租的狀況。也許員出路到中興路這段打通的話會有改善也不一定。每週一的夜市，其實不能算是夜市，只有固定那三五家會來擺攤，選擇性不多，來逛逛的人也不多。對面有火站及巴士站，還算不錯，對於依賴大眾運輸工具的人是個優點。
