In February of the Republic of China, Mr. Zhao Longwen, the former principal of the school, was entrusted by the National Security Bureau to set up the Department of Public Security, and selected 16 students from the 26th graduating class to participate in the governance work. In July of the same year, the 30th term of the department enrolled 38 students from the Department of Public Security under the name of Group B of the Department of Criminal Police. As of July of the Republic of China, the 32nd Department of Public Security was formally established and began to enroll students. Now the 85th Department of University Department has been enrolled. The purpose and mission of this department is to train national security and police and political security cadres. So far, the department has been established for 55 years and has cultivated more than 1,000 cadres of national security and police and political security, all of which have been distributed to the national security agencies and police agencies. The graduates have a neat quality, a good academic foundation, and a combination of theory and practice. They are committed to their duties, diligent and enterprising, and have excellent performance in participating in various national security tasks. They have been well received by service units and have made great contributions to maintaining national security and social order. . In 1974, the department set up a public safety group under the only police research institute of the school at that time, and began to recruit graduate students of the institute. In recent years, due to changes in the international political and economic situation, frequent interactions between cross-strait relations, rapid domestic social development, and the nature, types and scope of security threats tend to change and diversify, the challenges facing national security and social security have become more complex and severe. . In order to respond to changes in the environment, to meet the needs of practical work, and to transform the school into a university, and to promote the integration of departments. The department is actively preparing for the establishment of the Institute of Public Security, which was subsequently approved by the Ministry of Education. It has been recruiting graduate students of the Institute of Public Security since the 90th academic year so far; it is expected to help improve national security and police and political security cadres Quality, expand the field of national security research, and publish relevant academic research results, provide government decision-making departments with national security and police political security policy analysis suggestions, and become the most important academic research unit in the field of national security intelligence.
