★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 該單位於民國四十六年元月創立於新竹，原為山崎榮譽國民之家，為因應榮民就業輔導任務需要，於民國六十一年十一月改制為新竹就業講習所，專司榮民習藝就業輔導。八十一年八月奉行政院核定轉換任務，由新竹湖口遷至桃園八德現址，辦理榮民自費安養，八十三年九月奉准裁編原講習所，正式成立八德榮民自費安養中心，負責年老無依榮民自費安養工作事宜。一百零二年十一月一日奉核改制為八德榮譽國民之家。
公費安養：符合國軍退除役官兵全部供給制安置就養作業規定之榮民。（其餘條件與自費相同）
自費安養：
●有能力負擔應繳之費用者。
榮民年滿61歲，申請一般民眾房需年滿65歲。
●榮民夫婦併同安置，配偶須年滿五十歲以上，大陸配偶須與榮民結婚滿2年以上。
●日常生活活動功能量表評量八十一分以上，身心狀況正常，無罹患法定傳染病及精神病，能自行料理生活起居，不需他人照顧者。
The unit was founded in Hsinchu in January of the 46th year of the Republic of China. It was originally the home of the honorable nationals of Yamazaki. Self-supporting maintenance:
● Those who can afford the fees payable.
Rongmin must be 61 years old or older, and 65 years old to apply for housing.
● Rongmin couples are placed together, the spouse must be over 50 years old, and the mainland spouse must be married to Rongmin for more than 2 years.
● The daily life activity scale measures more than 81 points, and the physical and mental conditions are normal. There is no legal infectious disease and mental illness.
