[Mei Jing Tang] This is the place where Zheng Songzhang lived in seclusion in his later years. Xie Xuehong and Lin Huaimin also lived briefly. Zheng Songzhen was born in 1891, graduated from Meiji University in Japan, and then admitted to the defense nurse in 1922. After returning to Taiwan, Zheng Songzhen actively participated in the Taiwan Cultural Association and the parliamentary petition movement. In 1923, when the "government incident" broke out, Zheng Songzhang was briefly imprisoned. After that, he still actively participated in Taiwan's political movement. He was also a director of the Taiwan Cultural Association, organized the Taiwan Local Self-Government Union, and promoted citizen participation and universal suffrage. After the war, he was the chief prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of the Taiwan High Court, but was arrested in the "28th Incident." After being released from prison for 75 days, he was desperate for the authorities and the government since then. I bought Mei Jing Tang and devoted myself to studying Buddhism. I spent my old age here. Now Mei Jing Tang is inhabited by relatives. Zheng Songzhen once said to his grandson Zheng Shiwen, "I was called a pro-China person by the Japanese during the Japanese era, and a pro-Japanese person by the Chinese during the Kuomintang era. This is the sorrow of being a Taiwanese!"
