★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is very easy to get to by by bus #7322 at Chiayi train station 嘉義火車站 , I got off at 隙頂 stop and walked up the trail (very scenic) to the top and headed south and exit at 鞍頂 stop and took the bus back. Very nice scenery even without the sea of clouds. I went on a weekday morning and it was very quiet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We weren't able to see anything unfortunately, but wanted to share a few tips from locals that we met at our homestay.
The best time to come and view the "sea of clouds" is during the winter, when the weather conditions make it such that the clouds are lower to the ground. Also, coming after it rains is another good option! Other times, weather can be fairly tempermental and your odds aren't as good.
Even on days where conditions aren't good, there are tons of people hiking or trying to take photos, so if you want a good sunset viewing spot make sure to get there early. We'll definitely try to come back at some point in the future – the photos of the sea of clouds that others have posted look amazing!
