J	Jeffrey Gamble on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Positive points: one of the only places in Chiayi that I've found that serves one of my favorite snacks, 蚵嗲 (hard to describe in English, but it is a deep fried pastry that contains oysters with other vegetables such as cabbage). They also offer other products, all deep fried, including pumpkin, sweet potato, veggie balls, etc. The boss and her assistant are SUPER friendly and will chat if they have time. The best time to arrive is around 3 pm. In terms of negatives, the deep fried pumpkin was extremely oily. Overall the products were too oily. At one point the boss included too much ginger in the 蚵嗲, but now the flavor of back to normal. I recommend this stand, but be aware that everything is deep fried, so it's not exactly the healthiest place to eat. Nevertheless, the 蚵嗲 are yummy. By the way, they don't serve "海豬肉" (懂我意思嗎?).
