楠梓天后宮的歷史二百餘年。在清領臺灣初期，楠仔坑街即已形成，街屋眾多，為府縣的交通要道，也是鳳山、旗山、岡山三地的交會點及貨運集散地，故有「三山歸一坑，前街透後巷」的俗諺，而楠梓天后宮也見證早期楠仔坑的繁華歲月。

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 楠梓【天后宮】早期是楠梓區最重要信仰中心之廟宇，更是 高雄第22號“市定古蹟”。
雖 廟宇不是非常廣闊與金碧輝煌，但仍保有優久的歴史容貌與建築（西元1764.前創建）。因位居清代台南府城與鳳山縣城舊官道之中繼站，後成為鳳山縣城重要市集地之一。
廟口（西元1879.光緒五年）立一【鄧邑侯碑】勒告內文示 禁丐眾不得以店家 民宅婚喪喜慶 生子....等 強行索討財物，衍生為眾丐於市井乞收公告標準原則，也成為 清朝地方廟宇 市集管理規範。值得一看。
原名「楠和宮」因主祀天上聖母「媽祖」謹於民國81年改為【天后宮】。
Nanzi [Tianhou Temple] was the most important temple in Nanzi District in the early days, and it is also the No. 22 "Municipal Historic Site" in Kaohsiung.
Although the temple is not very vast and resplendent, it still retains its historic appearance and architecture (founded before 1764 AD). Because it was located in the relay station between Tainan Prefecture City and the old official road in Fengshan County in the Qing Dynasty, it later became one of the important market places in Fengshan County.
At the entrance of the temple (AD 1879. Five years of Guangxu), there was a monument [Deng Yihou Monument], which stated that beggars were forbidden to use the store's private house for weddings and funerals to give birth to children.... etc. forcibly ask for property, which resulted in beggars begging for money in the market. The principle of announcement standards has also become the management norm for local temple fairs in the Qing Dynasty. Worth a look.
The original name "Nanhe Palace" was changed to "Tianhou Palace" in 1981 because of the worship of the Virgin Mary "Mazu" in the sky.
