★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 步月樓於1895年時在佳冬與日軍發生首次戰役(因馬關條約，割讓台灣予日本，日軍要來接收而發生衝突)，是當時客家人首領之一的蕭光明指揮作戰的所在，也是當時蕭家書房、蕭家專用的出城門樓，可惜不到一日即被日軍優勢軍力攻陷!!
 Buyuelou had its first battle with the Japanese army in Jiadong in 1895 (clashing because of the Shimonoseki Treaty, which ceded Taiwan to Japan, and the Japanese army was about to take over). It was where Xiao Guangming, one of the leaders of the Hakka people, commanded the battle. It was also the Xiao family’s study room and the Xiao family’s dedicated gate building at the time, but it was a pity that it was captured by the superior Japanese army in less than a day!!

步月樓，在蕭家古宅南方，是蕭家的書房兼蕭家人專用進出門牆。
步月樓看起來古色古香，屋頂雕刻極為精緻，曾是蕭家抵抗日本侵略戰爭發生地。
步月樓戰役，更是南部六堆客家人，英勇護衛家鄉的見證。
