★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The small yellow and white bus I took (8168A) got me from the bus station to the train station in 20 minutes and it left on time from one of the numbered platforms. The TTB buses take 35 minutes to the train station and they leave from a different platform (8). I couldn’t see the platform number posted but I could see small white TTB buses parked along the curb near a sign I couldn’t read. Apparently this is Platform 8. The woman working at the info counter was friendly and spoke some English.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always friendly and helpful staff present to help you find your way in Taitung and around. The place itself now hosts a small exhibition space that is really nice to visit. Besides the much bigger area of the former station. Many cute shops, cafes and food places. Not to be missed when in Taitung and hard to miss it too and it’s in the heart of it, in a way. Just behind the area, you can climb the small hill overlooking Taitung. Will make you sweat a bit in hot weather, but worth the views. Some stray dogs might bark, so just be prepared for it.
