★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best mochi so far in Taiwan. From the front it seems like you’re gonna walk into someone’s living room, but there is a shop in the back indeed! The mochi itself is so soft that it almost becomes gelly in your mouth. And in the fillings you can taste that the owner has been trying to improve on the taste and structure, which makes it stand out from all of the mochi i had before this one. Recommended to pick up a box with all 3 flavours, as they are all interesting.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow! The best filled mochi I've ever had!! The mochi is freshly made with a generous amount of filling (red bean, peanut or black sesame). Only 50nt for 6 pieces! Wish we could take them back to Australia with us but they'll only last a few days as they don't use any preservatives. At first glance through the door, it looks like you're stepping into someone's living room, but the kitchen/production area is out the back.

Way better than the famous one
The store looks like a normal house in a small lane, just go inside and the owner is a nice grandpa
But it only can be stored in 2 days otherwise it won’t be taste good
But anyway we will finish them in 10 mins lol

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you happened to doubt if your google map has bring you to the right place as you're stopping outside a housing area, you are indeed at the right place! Their mochi are not displayed outside but was sold inside their house so please just make you way in and the uncle inside will bring you to their kitchen. It cost $10each which is extremely cheap, there are 3 flavours - Sesame, Peanut and Red bean. We bought all 3 flavours and were indeed impressed! A must try if you are here in Hualien!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I like the Mochi here, I enjoyed the chewy & elastic texture that is not too soft and the filling is not overly sweet.
Don’t hesitate to go inside the house like I did. ? The owner is running this family business inside, I hope you enjoy the Mochi like I do.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Arrived at 7:30am on a Friday to determine if this really was the best in the city and was 4th in line.
Verdict? Wonderfully soft mochi texture, not overly chewy, powdery filling with just a hint of sweetness, overall a well balanced treat, perfect for those who don't enjoy anything overly sweet.
The peanut and sesame ones outshone the red bean one, but I'm very picky about red bean flavors.
