★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great shop next to the train station. Owner is friendly and helpful and the price is good. Only one model of scooter (Yamaha Breeze 125), but it got us around Hualien and Taroko gorge. My only complaint is that the helmet was not very comfortable, but it was free with the price of the rental.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Right outside Xincheng Train Station you can rent a motorbike here to ride around Taroko Gorge. I highly recommend renting a motorbike to get around because Taroko Gorge is so large and you have a lot more freedom getting around the trails with your own bike. It was only 400nt to rent for the day when I was here. Amazing affordable. A full tank of gas was another 135nt.
Since the station didn’t have any coin lockers, I was able to leave my bag with them too. Very convenient if you take the train directly here before checking into a hotel.
