988 Massage Salon

I had a foot and shoulder massage. The massage was decent but very aggressive. My masseuse was an old man who kept making comments about my body. Everytime I tried to close my eyes to relax he would make another comment about how fat I was. I didn't pay 799 yuan to get body shaming comments. Thanks for ruining my evening!

It's been 10 days that I walked 25000 steps per day. I couldn't even fell asleep last night because of my calf muscle pain. After the massage, I felt a brand-new me ! Recommand for its quality, profession and also the cleanness of the place !

Cons Extremely noisy. Used to massage parlors being a place of relaxation, this was the opposite. Cashier and masseuses were constantly shouting at the top of their voice at each other. Blaring lights too. Untrained staff. Masseuse assigned could speak neither mandarin nor english. With what little he could communicate we learned he was from Vietnam and was a student. Nothing wrong with that in itself of course, IF the staff is properly trained. Foot massage was passable but it was obvious the masseuse didnt receive any training for doing back massages. About 15 minutes of rubbing the neck and 15 minutes of random jabs with the elbow to the back. Discussed with my wife and she had an entirely different experience. My back hurts more than before the massage. Seems (and quite literally - feels) like a scam. Feels like a production line. You have rooms upon rooms of massage chairs and beds. Despite the horrible massage you would at least expect some sort of decency. When the time was up the masseuse instanly stopped whatever he was doing, did some random jabs to the forehead and FORCIBLY and ABRUPTLY lifted my head til my body was in a sitting position, said "thank you, thank you" in the most insincere fashion, and was gone before i could even get my feet off the bed. Pro Wife's experience was at least good. Foot massage was ok - - - - - Got the 70 min foot and body massage Risk it if you want but it's a bad gamble in my opinion. Would have been better to just get some hot pot

Not a great place to get a massage. I got the foot and shoulder for 40 min (500 TWD). My masseuse was very rough and when I told him to be more gentle, he did softer then went back immediately to his aggressive massaging. I got a bruise on my neck from him. Other than that my feet ached more around the ankle area so I asked to have that area massaged. My masseuse said they don't massage that area and continued to massage other areas of my foot and leg. I left this place with my body still aching along with more pain because the masseuse did not listen to my requests. Not worth it.

Stumbled upon this 988 massage parlour only on the last day of our Taiwan trip. Oh man! If we had discovered this earlier, we would have gone a few times. It was near the hotel where we stayed. Didn't have time for 2 hrs which we normally would opt for, we had 1 hour back massage instead. Rushing for airport. The massage therapist whom I was allocated to, at first I was skeptical. When she was applying massage on my back, I felt so thankful to have her. My body felt so good after that. Only regret was that we should have come across this in the first place. Will definitely come back here if we are in Ximending, Taiwan again! A must-go place!

We were paired with No. 5, No. 29, and No. 77. All were delightful and attentive. They make sure you’re comfortable with the temperature of water for soaking feet and amount of pressure applied during the massage. My father prefers high pressure and he was also very pleased. We all left feeling refreshed and I recommend this place to anyone visiting Taipei. **Bonus: They give hot tea during massages and also offer shorts to change into for comfort

great massage. they really take all of the knots out of your feet. notes: 1. dont worry if you are wearing the wrong pants. they have shorts that you can change into 2. they also provide slippers, so you will have to take your shoes off at the front 3. there are outlets at each chair so that you can charge your phone 4. they provide tea 5. you have to pay in cash in taiwanese currency prior to your massage

Highly recommend this Foot massage/ body massage place. It was super close to the hotel I stayed at in Ximending so I went there because the lady was really friendly and told me about the promotion. I had No.14 the first time for my foot massage and he was amazing! I fell asleep half way and my feet were super swollen from the flight and it was so good after! I went back another day for a body massage (they open at 9am) and I got No.3 and he was super awesome. I had a massage with him 3 days in a row! I had very poor circulation and my legs were super stiff because of poor stretching. He took the time in the first massage session to loosen up the muscles of my thighs and really listened to my needs. The second time i went, i can feel that it was not as tight and it was actually comfortable. He also helped me loosen my stiff shoulders and I can feel a huge difference. The third time was very pleasant and I can feel that my circulation has improved substantially. The places that hurted the first time... did not. What I love about the place is how clean, professional the staff members were. They are great at what they do and the price that you pay is worth it. I do encourage tipping although it's not common in Asian culture, but the massage therapist that works really hard appreciate the recognition and it really makes their day! I got the $799 for 60 minutes package and it's a great deal!
