Not bad considering the very low entry fee. Certainly, there are nicer hot springs in the area, but this one is great for a quick dip if you don't want to spend a lot of money.

Traditional hot springs that is within the limits of Taipei and can be access from the Metro (there is a branch of the Red Line you will have to take to get there). It has three different pools with various temperatures. The hottest one, at least 46 Celsius, is at the top and not for the faint of heart. No pictures are allowed inside and one should note the swimwear restrictions. A Speedo one piece for women and Speedo shorts for men are the best bets to be allowed. Trunks without zippers can also work. If not, there is swimwear that can be purchased upon entry.

Yep VERY VERY STRICT bathing costume regulations. Is that because there is a shop selling bathing / swim wear right by the entrance ? Or is it a chicken or egg thing? The best thing is to show your swimwear before you enter. They are nice enough if done upfront. Swimwear is cheap, from 250NTD to 350+ I wonder is this a public facility by the Taipei city govt or privately owned ? Fun place, very local.

Great place if you are looking for a very inexpensive public hot spring experience! Try to avoid weekend though as you won’t be the only one enjoying the venue. We came on a weekday afternoon in January and it was already quite popular! 4/5 stars for the overall maintenance of the area.

You get what you pay for, nice natural warm springs. Very low entrance charge. Don’t expect fancy facilities, not a quiet personal hot springs place. Don’t get get me wrong for the price the value is great.

Summer 2021 - They have upgraded their shower cubicles and added a shade for the lower level pools as it would get really sunny in the summer. Toilets used to be smell of urine a mile away- now it's much cleaner -no more smells. Other than that, everything remains very much the same. 60NTD for adult, students and elderly half price.Entrance fee is minimal compared to what you'll have to pay at the resorts nearby. that fee is for a session of 2.5 hrs. Check schedule (photo uploaded) to plan your trip. You can pay cash or with easycard. I'll always drop by each time I'm in Taipei. It's a short walk from the Xinbeitou Metro station. There is a clear map in the station and along the way. It's well signposted and you can always ask someone on the street. Show a photo of the place if you can't speak Mandarin. They have four pools of hot springs of different temperature and 2 cold water pool. Always shower and wash your feet before getting into any pools. They are quite particular about cleanliness. If you have hair touch your shoulder you must tie it up or risk being shouted at. There is a locker for your stuff. The lockers only works with coins you can change with the person selling tickets. Oh you must bring your own swim suit or buy from them. Bikinis are allowed Beach shorts for men aren't allowed. You'll need tight fighting spandex shorts or Speedo. You also need to swim cap now. They sell swim wear for men and ladies. Their selection might not suit your taste. And you don't want to waste your time and trip there. There are shower cubicles, bring your own toiletries. Go early and avoid weekends Its a tourist attraction it gets too crowded. After the dip you can walk around the area lots to see and eat. Tryout Taiwanese beef noodles - most stalls do it well. Most restaurants in Taiwan are good I haven't had any bad experiences eating there for the last four years

Beautiful scenery and lovely hot springs. Best would be to visit during the winter months. Thermal valley is also amazing to see. The hot spring cost only NT$40. Make sure to bring a swimming costume if you want to go into the hot springs.

The Beitou Hot Spring (or Xinbeitou Hot Spring) you’ll definitely want to visit if you’re spending winter in Taipei, there are enough fascinating cultural and historic sights at this Taipei hot springs to warrant a visit in any season. Beitou Hot Springs are located at Xinbeitou MRT station. You’ll have to get to Beitou station first on the red MRT line, then transfer onto the 2-stop pink line to reach Xinbeitou. Beitou is the only metro-accessible hot spring in Taiwan. Beitou Thermal Valley (also called Beitou Geothermal Valley or Hell Valley) is a second, highly acidic “green sulfur” hot spring that is a major tourist attraction in Beitou and the source of the hot creek running through Beitou Hot Spring Park. The spring water is high in radium, which in the past underwent a corrosive reaction with the andesite rocks on the river bed about 150 meters downstream, creating layers of cream and white diamond-shaped crystals named Hokutolite or “Beitou stone”, the only mineral in the world to be named after a region of Taiwan.
