During the Daoguang period in 1825, Zeng Yuyin and local gentry formed the "Wenwei Club" in Sizhangli. In 1844, another Gongsheng Huang Zhengzhong formed the "Wen Bing Society". In 1863, the Wenchang Temple was built during the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty. In September 1904, the east and west wing rooms were provided to the four-zhangli public school for class use. In December 1913, the four Zhangli Public School moved to Sanfenpu by class. After World War II in 1945, Taiwan was taken over by the Nationalist government and was used by the military at that time. In 1972, the left and right wing rooms were rented out as a nursery. In 1976, in order to preserve the historic sites, local people initiated the construction of temples, worship pavilions, Sanchuanmen and other buildings. In November 1985, the government listed it as a third-class monument for protection. In 1996, the nursery moved out.
