★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 50NT to get in. This was build by the Dutch in 1635 and was called Fort Provintia. It is now known as Chikan Tower. You can walk the square and feel the 300 year old history of this magnificent building. This is one of the most popular historical attraction of Tainan. A must see visit in Tainan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After reading about this building in my Chinese language textbook, I had to swing by for a visit. Beautiful and I appreciate the wall of wishes that students have written about their upcoming exams (this one is a wish to not have to take exams in the first place).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Magical historical site in city center. I personally think it’s better to go on late afternoon to experience the place after dark. TWD 50 entrance fee which is very reasonable to keep the place spotless clean. The whole compound was quite and peaceful (because we went during weekdays) it’s a perfect place to walk around slowly and enjoy the small details until your heart content!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting and historical place but not well preserved because the original Dutch built caste was not restored to its original design… instead it was decided to build a traditional Chinese style sea god temple on it.
I mean it looks beautiful but it would be more special to me if the European architecture was preserved.
