This place is worth a stop if you'd like a fine chocolate tasting experience -- they have a lovely wine tasting-like set up with well-informed staff rich with info (was all in Chinese tho). Knocking off a star since the place is quite small (only can fit two sets of customers at a time, so expect a wait if it's busy...) and we were asked to give the place a 5 star review in exchange for a promo (more on that later). Still, overall was well worth the stop on our way to Kenting! The staff were super friendly and started by introducing the coco beans (how the owner selects the beans, its properties, how it differs from other coco plantations in other countries -- and even giving each of us a coco bean straight from the pod to taste!) to how it's processed (the different stages and how they use the whole bean vs how other bigger processing firms might just use part of the bean minus its oils). We also were served coco tea (made from the coco bean pods). Then we had a free tasting of the chocolates they have on display for the day, they have over a dozen chocolates but usually only have 5 for sale each day depending on supply. We got to try the 70%, 85%, 90%, milk chocolate, and peanut chcolate (so rich was like eating peanut butter!) each had its own flavor notes and we got a whole education on it. Given that coco bean prices are higher in Taiwan (compared with say coco plantations in the continent of Africa) and these are international award winning choclates, the price is quite steep -- over US$50 for a box of 24 pieces (though this seems to be the price point for a lot of these boutique chocolate places in Taiwan after we shopped around). They had a promotion of buy four get one free, or buy two and if you give them a good review on google or facebook, you get a bag of coco tea. This is where the staff asked us for a five star review ... I will say the service and the product WAS indeed five stars, but explicitly asking for a certain rating seemed off. Felt it would have been more appropriate to just ask for a review (vs explicitly asking for a certain rating). All in all though, if you are a lover of chocolate, this is quite a luxurious experience and worth a stop to pause and enjoy the fine chocolates of Taiwan! We walked away with a bit more coco knowledge and a couple of boxes of super nice chocolates to dine with wine and send as gifts.

I arrived the store drenched wet after riding 20k in the rain this Wednesday. Mr. Tseng hosted me in person with warm welcome. He let me sample 4 chocolate with different percentage of cocoa that each wowed me with fantastic flavour. It’s creamy, rich yet very fresh— you can tell it’s made of top quality cacao bean. All of them grown locally. Pity that I can’t carry the box set with me that day due to limited packing space while riding bicycle. Will definitely buy them on line. Thank you Mr Tseng again for your kindness, sincerity and most importantly, your efforts in making the best chocolate in the world!

I am an Australian??. I know a little bit Chinese as I love the culture in Taiwan. It is an awesome experience to enjoy this chocolate. I cannot forget how the taste is so rich. This shop makes such mouth-watering chocolate that I just can’t wait to go for it again. They let me know another types of chocolates which is healthy. It helps to reduce the chance of getting heart disease. I hope the shop can open an oversea branch store in Australia ?? and I can share this experience to my friends and family.
