nice place for families with kids. we visited the digital art exhibition consisting of 4 themes/rooms, which are mesmerizing, a feast for the eyes and camera lenses. we went on a weekday, so we had the place for ourselves. the exhibition is comparable to Tokyo's Mori digital art museum.

At first glance it looks like a cool place, but you’ll soon realize that it’s mostly empty. There are a few open stores, but most of the shops with open doors are basically just cheap arcades. Also ... where’s the art? There wasn’t a single exhibition happening, but at least we could take a photo of the big blue guy on the roof.

It takes about 20 mins from Taichung Main Station. You can take bus no. 107, 108, 201 or 132 and get off at Dali Library. Overall I love the concept of the plaza. Unfortunatelly, there are so many empty spaces.

I found out about this place through the pictures of the big blue man on his smartphone and the Kaws statue. However, it’s important to note that these pieces of art are not permanent. I might have gone at the wrong time (maybe because of the weather? The day before was windy? Because it’s the end of the year so the focus is more on Christmas illuminations? It was part of a temporary exhibition?), but they are apparently not always exhibited in the outside court (actually, the Kaws statue was exhibited in an art gallery on the 1st floor, and it looked kind of permanent... No pictures allowed). However, they are not the only pieces of art to see there. There are many more statues in the small park behind, and the art gallery has many pieces from Takashi Murakami and Yayoi Kusama. It’s worth taking a look even though the place is quite empty (despite the several shops!).

Such a waste of a nice complex. It's probably the best of the kind in Taichung, but the place is empty. Whether by lowering the rent in the less attractive level, actively supporting the artists to host exhibitions, having something ordinary like a supermarket in the basement, or whatever else - need to attract tenants that can attract regular customers. Trying to fill the place with a handful of expensive art shops isn't gonna let this place live.

It's a huge complex with many activities for kids. Entry is free, but you have to pay for the individual activities. These include climbing areas, safe kids play zones that have slides and ball pits, and large remote controlled cars that kids could give in. My 8 year old enjoyed the trampoline area, as did my 4 year old but we had to pay for an extra ticket as an adult needed to accompany the younger child. When we were there, most of the stores in the upstairs area were closed, but we were told by security that that do open and there are activities for kids on specific dates.
