★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A must visit place with cafes, quirky stores and an even quirkier sugar factory with exterior and machinery intact which turns into a live performance stage for local artists on Saturdays... We visited on a weekday and enjoyed spending an hour there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First of all.. right at the entrance there is a nice Japanese style restaurant. The 'okonoyami' is really good!
The sugar factory is a nice place with a creative vibe.. most weekends there something to do, varying from a small concert to karaoke.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cute place a bit in the middle of nowhere but cycling on the old railway track from the old to the new Taitung station, you pass by on your way to the new Taitung station. Particularly the pottery shop sells a wide range of beautiful items and some other shops have interesting items for sale as well. The coffee served was served with a lot of friendliness, was big and strong but of a very dark roast

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A pretty cute place to discover some local art and vendors! Some of the stuff is pretty overpriced, but I would say that since they're handmade and local, the price could be justified. It seems more geared towards tourists in their offerings - like straw woven bags, hats and other 'beachy-type' items.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm so glad to have been here, it was one of the nicest places that I visited in Taiwan. Relaxed atmosphere, great cocktails and that particular evening there was even a bonfire going. ?
The art objects sold by the local collective are probably the most authentic souvenirs you can find and even the interior of the old sugar factory alone is worth a visit. 5/5 would recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came on a weekday around lunch time and the place was really quiet. According to a friend this place is use for performance that usually take place on weekend and sometime late at night. We could not experience any of these hence the 3 stars review.
