Due to the changes in social structure, Taiwan has gradually changed from an agricultural society to an industrial society, and the population has gradually moved to the Greater Taipei area with factories, commercial prosperity, and political and cultural centers. Yonghe is only one brook away from Taipei, and the transportation is convenient. Therefore, the population has increased significantly. People of insight believe that the church should also make progress with the change of the society and sow the seeds of the gospel in a timely manner. At that time, the elder Liang Chaoyu of the Yonghe Church, Mr. Chen Linzhu, and the elder Chen Shishui started the Sunday school in Nanshijiao in the spring of 1972. Because there was no fixed field, it was terminated soon. In the spring of the same year, Elder Huang Yanhe moved north from Chiayi Luman to live in Yonghe Zhongxing Village. He is a kind man and a doctor praised by the community. Therefore, Rev. Dai Zhengyi believes that the time for the establishment of the church is mature. On May 7th, 1972, we rented a house of worship at No. 102 Zhiguang Street, Yonghe City, and named it "The Elder Church of Taiwan Christian Church." The opening ceremony was on May 21st, and 21 people attended that day.
