★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 昭和5年時，1930年，東洋捕鯨會社捕穫一條大型長鬚鯨，並將此條鯨魚長21尺之下顎骨奉獻製作為鳥居，另一說為其長23尺之肩胛骨，但實際應該為下顎骨，而鳥居左側柱部份之內側刻有「東洋捕鯨株式會社臺灣事業場」，據說此一「鯨魚骨鳥居」毀於戰爭末期的美軍轟炸，另一較為特殊的是在鳥居前方左右兩側各擺放了一門砲。
「鯨魚骨鳥居」遺址現轉為關稅總局員工訓練中心，現址內存有另一遺跡為 日本 武藤信義 大將造訪燈塔時吟詩揮亳留下的拓刻紀念碑。
In the Showa era, in 1930, the Toyo Whaling Club captured a large fin whale and dedicated the 21-foot-long lower jawbone to make a torii. The other said it was a 23-foot long scapula, but it should actually be Jawbone, and the inside of Torii ’s left column is engraved with "Taiyo Whale Co., Ltd. Taiwan Business Field". It is said that this "whalebone torii" was destroyed by U.S. military bombings at the end of the war. Another special one is on the left and right sides of Torii Each had a cannon.
The site of "Whale Bone Torii" is now converted into the General Staff Training Center of the Customs and Excise Department. There is another relic in the site, which is a topographical monument left by the Japanese general Muto Xinyi when he visited the lighthouse.
