Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum - Dashu District

Went on a Sunday afternoon, had the bus E02 (from Zuoying bus station) all to ourselves. It's a 25 minute ride going up. The place is quite large and picturesque. Definitely wear comfortable shoes as the walk around is a bit lengthy. Some staff members speak English and one of them approached us and gave a short tour.

Very peaceful peace, recommend for the buddhist religion go there have a look.

Great museum, you will learn a lot of Buddhist history in Taiwan and Asia.

Went there during the Chinese New Year. Loved the parade and lion dance. The light show is a definite must see! Had a blast there

A very good place to visit! It was my wishlist for a long time and when I come a long way here I did not regret at all, overall a very good experience! Children’s would also love this place as it has some entertainment including movie.

Well these are my best pictures forever This will my best visit and favorite place in Taiwan for ever , I visit every year There will 2 weeks fireworks show every year on New year , check updates There are also vegetarian restaurant with delicious foods , free parking , restroom , bus stand I will give 5*****

Such an awesomely huge museum, and with free entrance ticket, definitely a must visit even if you're not Buddhist. The monks and the employees are all incredibly helpful and friendly, even if you understand nothing, they'll understand and guide you slowly. I'd suggest to spare a whole day, if not two days for this place. You will also need to bring your own snacks or food, or else the available restaurants are the ones provided inside only (and in my understanding, most are vegetarian but i might be wrong). Don't forget to check the website for more information, especially regarding special events. I was lucky to saw the lion dance and the parade, so much fun! This museum allows you to learn so much about Buddhism and who is Siddharta Gautama. The only downside is although there are public transportations, please don't forget to check the latest bus so you don't miss it. Once you miss it and you don't have any transportation, it'll be hard to go back as it is quite in a secluded area.
