★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The old street in the old town of Hengchun is a tourist attraction where visitors come for pilgrimage! There are various shops in this neighborhood, including coffee shops, gift shops, local snack stores and many stalls along small lanes.
The old town is surrounded by walls and gates in four directions. It is a nice trip to look for interesting stuff inside the town under nice weather.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Certainly a must-visit when passing through Hengchun. The main cultural attractions are the old city wall and several city gates that are in the vicinity. The city wall in particular is an interesting site as one can climb it and walk in it for a few hundred meters. Additionally, at the starting point there's also, across the plaza, an old wall with gnarly trees, on which monkeys climb around from time to time.
Food-wise the old street is also well-equipped, with cafes (Ce Moment is terrific and offers great cheesecake or cinnamon rolls), restaurants (kitchen swell, if you get a seat), or food stalls (try the green bean soup) offering plenty of choices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The old town is certainly worth walking around. The city has an historic city gate in the centre of a roundabout and also other city gates and ruins reflective of their heritage. Grab a map and walk around because you can find plenty of interesting sites, shops and eateries.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice quaint spot when in the area. Like many Old Street's of Taiwan towns, it has great character. Too bad the streets are still open to traffic. Sometimes hard to enjoy and take it all in when you are constantly on the look out for scooters and cars!
