★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A moderate hike to a pleasant waterfall in the mountains. Pair it with a hike to the peak of Tang Madan for a good day's workout.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for hiking. Difficult trail about 3 hours round-trip without the amazing time at the waterfall.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite a walk down the hill. It was very peaceful and the environment was very healthy here. We used tin cans for target practice with a locally bought slingshot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best waterfall I visited so far. A little challenging on the trail for rhe beginners. The mountains is so green, we didn't see the monkey this time. For beginner would be tough but once you get to see this falls, it is a hidden paradise. Will definitely coming back again & again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful waterfalls in Taichung. Need to hike before reaching this place and currently it's not allowed to swim on the big waterfalls. Other term for this falls is BUTTERFLY Valley falls. Clean water and relaxing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ i had to walk for about 2 hours to get there +1 hour from bus stop. But it was worth it, the water is so refreshing, and the sunset that accompany us while we walking down was so beautiful

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fun and challenging hike. Be sure to wear hiking shoes as the trail is uphill and rocky, with a couple tangling roots that might trip you. After about an hour and half of hiking you'll reach a wooden bridge that looks like it was built very recently. After about 10 minutes on the bridge, you'll hit the gorgeous waterfall.
Butterfly Valley Waterfall got its name because the cliff faces look like butterfly wings. It's definitely a serene place where a lot of hikers sit to enjoy the view or eat their lunch after hiking (sandwiches, instant noodles, fruits).
If it's warm enough you'll be able to swim. We went in November and got to the waterfall after 12pm, so it was a little too cold and windy for us to swim. I think warmer months or getting there before the place is in shade, you'll be able to jump in the small lake/rivers!
There's two routes to take to get to the waterfall, one that's longer through the mountain, and one that goes directly there. Make sure to plan correctly!
