A very dramatic spot in Keelung!!

What a wonderful viewpoint! It is easy to get up here and check out the harbor, the city and all the surrounding hills.

Pretty cool walk - steep hill past the locals houses, and you get to meet some resident cats too. Worth a walk, however the park is still closed around the Keelung sign due to covid, so you can only walk up around it and back. Lots of mosquitoes around the area though, so do prepare some mozzie spray.

Those white Hollywood-style letters on a hill overlooking Keelung Port are one of the city’s major landmarks. The history of the sign is somewhat of a mystery, but locals say it was built in 2006. The sign can be seen prominently from many parts of the city and overlooks Keelung Port. From Keelung station, you can reach the sign with a 15/20 minutes walk through the Huzi Mountain Trail. It's a pretty steep hill for a little bit. From here, you can get a great view of Keelung Port, Keelung Islet in the distance, and the hills and mountains surrounding the city. The sign itself is probably bigger than you had imagined. Behind the letters are a track and a basketball court. There is a little coffee shop, too. It's apparently open at night on weekdays and in the afternoon on weekends. You can continue going up the stairs to the very top of the hill, which seems like an old fort area and gives more good looks. It’s a great place for a little bit of solitude and a great scenic lookouts on the city. Worth to visit at least once in the life. Driving is easier from the west side of harbor, first right turn after passing TaiMa line pier to enter an “Ascending spiral lane” to reach hill of Huzishan. Great view. Busy parking alert. Traffic in narrow lane sometimes.
