The service was terrible and the hot chocolate cost $200 but was the size of a shot of espresso. The chocolate itself was not to my liking but I can see how it would be suited to someone who prefers more bitter chocolate. Honestly the worst part was how rude the wait staff were, they make you feel like you’re bothering them, like they wish you would just leave. And to add insult to injury, they charge a $50 service fee. I don’t mind paying a service fee when the service is nice, or even just neutral, but it felt weird to pay $50 for rude service.

The chocolate is nice high quality which is one of the best ones I have tasted in Taiwan!

Absolutely disappointing. I found Jean-Paul hevin’s chocolate cake at their omotesando store and I swear to god it is the best chocolate cake $7 could buy. Fast forward to the Taipei 101 shop, great location, beautiful setting, blah service (more on that later) I was determined to have the best chocolate cake ever. It was $10 for 1/3 the size of Japan’s. The size was so pathetic.... it was literally 3 bites. Well it doesn’t matter because hey you gotta pay for the expensive rent there right? But the cake was also stale...you can tell the chocolate is great quality, but it doesn’t taste fresh at all. It was dry and pieces broke off easily. Upon our inquiry, 101 store gets their cake shipped from France, and japan makes their own right there. I don’t know how that works since japan is a lot closer than France. Anyways, I hope jean-Paul Hevin’s headquarter can take a closer look at this shop which is just such a disgrace with terrible quality cake. Btw service is not your usual Taiwanese service, the workers sat in the booth and talked loudly on the phone so I had to switch seats. Waiter was nowhere to be found and appears to know nothing about their cake. Avoid at all costs unless you are willing to settle for old cake and bad service!

Cheaper to go to Paris. The chocolate is ok (there is better in Taipei), but the portions are very small and the price is much higher than Paris. And they don’t even have water, you have to buy a bottle of Perrier. Better to go downstairs and get some award-winning Taiwan chocolate at Fu Wan (see picture).

Sitting ambience is nice. You can actually see a section of the Taipei 101 building from the inside. Only had drinks and pastries. Chocolate flavour is rich but drink felt diluted. Qnd considering the size of the cup and the amount of ice cubes inside, there is not much liquid.
