This place was ok - things are not made fresh to order so depending on what you choose it might be a bit cold and not so tasty. The shop ladies are pretty friendly and tolerant of horrible / no Chinese but I didn't see any English, you just line up and point at things and they'll cut them up and put on your tray. You could also order things you couldn't see like xiao long bao, mantou, etc. But it was so rushed didn't have time to think about that. I got dan bing (rolled egg pancake), wu tang dou Jiang (soy milk no sugar) and a fried pork pancake which came to 95ntd. The dan bing was not that fresh and a bit flabby and oily but nice enough. Maybe there was specific sauce for it somehwere but not on my table so I ate it plain without the usual sweet thick soy it comes with. The pork pancake had great potential and was deliciously fresh and juicy, but I think the pork was undercooked (see my picture)! I stopped part way through when I realised as it really looked partially raw to me and I wanted to be safe. I also tried the dumplings which were fine but nothing special and quite cold. The soy milk has a very strong beany flavour compared to others. Overall an ok experience. I would come back to try some made to order items but probably not the ones on display unless they were freshly laid out. Note, I went at about 8pm and it was very busy.

Service is fast. Ordered the xlb and carrot cake, both taste ok only. Love their soymilk with charred taste. First sip was abit off, but gradually love it after drinking more. Feel that's it abit more expensive than usual breakfast shops as well.

Simple and fuss free breakfast :) the dou jiang has a very unique taste. Headed there for late breakfast on a weekday so we did not squeeze with the breakfast crowds.

Everytgung I tried was delicious. Came back 3 days in a row for breakfast. Staff were very kind and patient with my pointing and google translating what I wanted as I don't speak or read Mandarin. I definitely recommend! Being 24hrs is a plus, as many restaurants nearby close around 8pm

The soy milk was the best one I've had so far in Taiwan, it was both sweet and stayed true to the flavours of soy milk. Moreover, the food was good, but it wasn't anything extraordinary. Nevertheless considering the price, it provides good value. Great!

That restaurant was an institution in Taichung but it seems they decided to stop caring about quality and just live on the name. I don’t know it is physically possible to put that much oil in a bun.

It was a new experience to try the traditional Taiwanese breakfast on our 2nd day in Xitun District, Taichung City. We walked all the way from our lodging in Sichuan 3rd Street to this shop along Wenxin Road early in the morning before we headed to our booked daytrip meeting place. Good thing that they are open 24 hours, we didn't have to worry about coming too early and having to wait. You get attended to as soon as you walk into the restaurant. You just have to point on their food on display to let them know of your orders. We satisfied our bellies with carbs and egg-filled meal and washed down with dou jiang (soy milk), cold version for my companion and the hot one for me. Your Taiwanese-breakfast is not complete if you don't try this beverage. I got a bit too excited and wanted to try a little bit of everything. I didn't mind as they were just affordable. What I ordered were excessive for just two people - they're quite heavy! We tried to finish them all but we just decided to wrap you tiao (twisted cruller) to go. We're super full by the end of our breakfast we felt like crawling on our way to the bus stop.

Being a big fan of scallion cakes, I've high expectations of this place. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the smell of fried eggs and onions and fresh flour, causing us to hasten our pace to find a seat. We ordered most of the available items and loved every single one. However, our personal favourite was the egg and scallion folded pancake.
