National Science and Technology Museum - Sanmin District

Great experience for everybody in Kaohsiung. Excessive exposition, though not everything is with English translation. On certain days there was a free entry (not sure whether it's still a thing), some extra shows and decent restaurant inside the building. Definitely a whole day attraction, so be prepared for it.

Terrible. NOT FOR KIDS . Huge wasted space. Very sad really. You can see the remnants of a good museum if you look past the dust and years of lack of maintenance. For heaven's sake, Carrefour has nicer bathrooms with better children's facilities. The two floors supposedly for children felt like bushiban cram-schools turned into open classrooms. Lots of written information, not fun or interactive. Worst of All, one of the few hands on exhibits has replaced a working bicycle component with a spinning bike and has automated the rest, so kids are duped into thinking they are responsible for making it move. Seriously? 掉連。 Children's indoor playscape w fake snow is nice, but closes at 4 and at 350nt x is not cheap. Btw. Most exhibits close at 4+- so, go early. And during the 12-1 lunch break. As someone mentioned, probably due to new management. Hopefully it will change again in the near future. Don't waste your time and make your children unhappy. They do have a 3-d movie theatre. Might be ok. Didn't go in. Might be ok for teens.

The place is huge with 6 floors, there are a lot of interactive things that we can try They also have some games, it cost 30 NT dollars per game It is fun for family with children But there is no mrt station near the museum, you could take bus or train to go there (with walking distance)

Nice place and many facilities for kids??

Perfect place for children to spend a day or two here!! They’d never get bored and would be able to simultaneously play and learn through a variety of activities, which would keep their busy little hands super busy.

A extremely interesting and interactive place where they use the latest technology such as VR headsets to keep you entertained. It’s a good place to kick back and relax while the kids play around with the games. It’s a huge place so I recommend giving a full day to explore it. However, some attractions require tickets so be prepared to pay

Some of the exhibitions are nice but it’s not the best museum that I have been. The healthland is really cool!

HUGE museum that could easily take a whole day to explore. We particularly enjoyed the expansive display on the top floor about Typhoon Morakot, especially the immersive 14 minute video that projects all around you. The museum also has interesting displays on the Taiwan industrial revolution, technology, production, communication, health, etc. Free bag check, place to eat pack lunch, and I spotted a cafe as well. Plenty of bathrooms, and there’s a bus stop right outside.
