A bit expensive, but worth it considering the effort put into creating and serving this appropriated menu here. They offer some typical Bavarian dishes (Semmelknödel Schnitzel) that are good. Great for buying some bread to take home to the family or getting a quick desert (the tiramisu cake looks good)! If you’re in the area and want to try a Taiwanese take on German food, this is the place.

Only tried the bakery but looking forward to try more bread and also the restaurant. Was missing Bretzel so badly so I tried it. It's wrapped in plastic and yet the salt mostly "melted" into the bread but that's understandable because with such high humidity in Taipei it must be really difficult to produce salty lye rolls. The taste nevertheless was really good and what I liked even more were the scones (not German but who cares ?)! Service is also very friendly and the selection of breads is good, so this for now is my favorite bakery in Taipei.

German food in Taipei? This is the place to check out. High CP lunch set - for NT300+, you get a 4 course set meal consisting of a main, a drink, soup, salad and cake. Ordered a chicken cutlet (380~) and German pork knuckle (780~). Portion for chicken is ok, but very generous serving of pork knuckle. Though they deboned it for you, they left the knuckle at the side for you to admire. Salad: ok Soup and bread: good Main: good Dessert: good Coffee: ok

Nice place to dine. The dishes are good in quality and presentation. The portion is big, for small eater, a main course can serve two persons. Their sets are value of money, it come with soup, desert and drink. The desert you can choose from Terimisu or Ice cream, both are great! Again portion is big, you can see from my photos. The ice cream is not sweet, so u don't have to worry. Five of us order 5 different sets, they were all great. Cod fish, beef, chicken, pork knuckles, sausages... all nicely cook. We enjoy the meals time. The service was great, the one who served us was polite, patient and attentive to our needs. Will come back again.

(With English menu)I had a lunch in here before, and the experience was good. However, I had a dinner here this time. I really think it’s not really German style. If u recognize as a western restaurant is ok. The meat are just acceptable. The salad and cake is ok, but not special. The price is higher than average in this area. I spent around 850NTD for a normal portion of dinner, which surprised me.

German style real heavy breads, rare craft beer in big glass mugs, nice selection of dinner items, real German sausage, optional outdoor seating - this place has it all. They even have brunch (wish it was all day, but ends at 4). The sausage dish and most everything we had was AAA quality - just amazing. Also had a homemade soda and a tasty/unique banana-apple cake that was thick, heavy texture, and delicious. Then of course, the bread.... Wow. All rare, heavy breads. Sourdough, rye, you name it. Even the sandwich bread blew my mind - 5 slices that weighed more than an entire loaf of Taiwan style bread. As for the cons: Also tried a cake with a fruit topping, but it was deeply disappointing to those expecting German style - too light/delicate with a "jello" topping that felt more like Taiwan cake instead of German. My Taiwanese wife liked it though :) The NiuNan (stewed beef) was a bit tough (needs longer stewing and some beating/tenderizing), but had great flavor. I'd give -0.5 stars for cons, which still rounds to 5/5. Overall, this place is a bit far from my home, but worth the drive - I'll be back. The only reason why I didn't find this earlier was because this is marked as ONLY a bakery, and passing by one can't even tell they sell real food, real beer (and even the coffee looks great). They should really have some pictures on the outside, or big words dinner, cafe, beer. Or add a subtitle: "Oma Ursel's German Bakery and Bistro" (Whats a German word for Bistro ?). The longer the name, the more SEO keywords, the more visibility. Would've loved to find this place 5 years ago :) Edit: Just some notes: * Their sign says they take Amex, but they don't. Np, but fyi. * Seems like they moved within the past year since most the pics on this page don't match the actual place.

we had goulash and spicy sausages- an absolute delight. Bakery products delicious. However, our drinks order came with a fair bit of delay and only after complaining several times. then we were given a wrong meal and only after questioning waitress realized her mistake. Ambience is great but I can't say that about their service. We will be back but will demand better service

Delicious beer and meatballs. Not to mention the terrific selection of salads. Their potato salad is one of my favs!
