★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to get glasses here in Taiwan. No prescription needed as they can give you one on the spot. Decent sized selection of their own branded frames with prices starting from $2000NT for frames and lens. They get you on the extra like special coatings and transition lens if you feel like splurging. Also if you are from out of town, you can get a 5% rebate if you have your passport with you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Owndays and Jins are similar franchises for getting a quick pair of glasses. I tried both concepts, and depending on the person who is helping you, you will either have a great experience or end up with a pair you never use. Communication is vital, so if you feel the salesperson is rushing the process or does not understand your needs, then move on. I was wonderfully helped by a female salesperson (Yuan?) who took time to get the correct measurements and advise me on the final specs for the glasses. Note : If you never had glasses before, or if your needs are not so common, then perhaps it's better to visit a proper optometrist.
