★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Simply gorgeous. Perhaps the best coffee roaster in Tainan, if not Taiwan.
To give it the context it deserves. The space it occupies used to be a detention room for political prisoners under the Japanese occupation and subsequent KMT regime of terror. Now however it has been transformed into a slick and modern space.
If you want to sit outside with the banyan tree and beautiful garden, you still need to order at the counter.

1.A cafe in an arts museum that has modern decoration and cozy atmosphere, featuring awarded barista making coffees.
2.Yet by Irish coffee and American coffee we ordered, they turned out to be "just fine".
3.Pancake that contained Japanese Mochi is somewhat more special than coffee.
Cons:
1.Minimum consumption of a drink is required per person.
2.Max seating time = 2 hours.
3.Service needs to be improved, should treat every guests equally. i.e. We were told to sit as we wish, but later were asked to move in order to make rooms for other guests, even other spaces available. i.e. we were told to grab menus and make orders at the counter. but other guests were handed menus.
4.crazy kids could ruin your time. kids shouting were not stopped but rather continued.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Really friendly staff. Lovely environment when not too crowded, but can be a bit chaotic during busy times though.
Edited review: removed a star because while I still feel the staff is really friendly, I don't think this place is well-managed.
On a return visit, a big portion of the cafe was reserved for some sort of corporate group. While I came right before they arrived as was able to get a seat, a number of people were told they had to sit at the counter or turned away.
As this cafe is attached to the museum and serves as a convenient place for visitors to get refreshments, I feel it's unfair to let a large group of suit-wearing workers book most of the tables for a company get-together. If the management is going to host large groups, why not just require that these groups pay to book the entire space and then close the cafe to the public?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service staff were chatting nonstop loudly, which was really unprofessional. Ordered 2 flat white and it took them 20mins to serve. Cafe was relatively empty when we arrive. Coffee was served ridiculous hot in a glass, which makes it impossible to drink from. Who serves a hot beverage from a glass anyway?
