★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Has a great tradition and slightly challenging course. Caddies are very experience and many of them are great golfers. House’s food shop next to first tee has really good food.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well known and closest golf course in Taipei metropolitan. Well maintained facility for the sport and some catchup afterwards. Basically the facility is on a plain and quite easy for walking, even elderly people. It is not really big place.
There is sometimes seasonal wind or cold front from the North. It is quite windy sometimes over the golf course. So, if you want to better enjoy your game, it is always better to check the weather condition before you set for it.
Though it is not far from Taipei City, the traffic is painful, especially during the morning and evening peak hours. There is only one way in and out of Dan Shui township at this moment. You would better plan 90 minutes to travel from the golf course to downtown Taipei.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An interesting, varied track in a parkland setting, offering challenging elevation changes.
In mid-February, the tee boxes, fairways and greens were in good condition. The bunkers were wet and sand densely-packed. The greens were extremely slow - I'm afraid I'll be putting off the greens when I get back on my home course - but I've heard this is typical of courses in Taiwan. Finally, the caddies were outstanding.
I couldn't find Course Rating and Slope, for handicap purposes. I'm a 16 handicap and played bogey golf on a day with mediocre ball striking and above-average number of putts. My guess would be 71/115.
Overall, our group enjoyed both rounds played here. Worth the rather steep green fees.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice challenging course, wish the green would roll better tho. Male caddie actually knows how to play so its a plus. Fairways are kept fairly nice, and not as many wild dogs running around. Placement is more important than distance. At times wind can come from all directions. Over all a nice place to play.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Oldest course in Taiwan (1919) and home to Taiwan’s Masters. Players will need to be accurate off the tee (lots of trees) and decent approach to the relatively small greens. Caddies at Old Tamsui are second to none. They not only provide the best reads around the greens but also great source for swing tips when you’re struggling. A good score here should boost your confidence like nowhere else.
