★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Lin Family Mansion is one of the four gardens has amazing traditional Chinese architecture. Every corner has surprise, very beautiful place. A village of buildings on stone pave way, gazebo and beautiful ponds. Not recommend bring small children and stroller inside. It now requires a ticket to visit.
百年歷史國家古蹟, 非常美麗的花園, 很多傳統的古老建築物. 很值得一看.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Intend to visit again, this time to join the tour of the main sector. Beautiful place resembling the older times of Chinese culture. The mansion of those days. Quiet enough and well maintained. Being surrounded by the artful architecture, you can almost feel youself time traveling back into the past. Sitting inside one of the rooms while raindrops lightly tap on the roof and onto the stone pebbles and ponds right outside, you'd think you can finally understand the romance and wisdom of classic Chinese poems from countless centuries ago. Recommended for a solo trip, just to sit with yourself and your imagination.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This spot is a nice place to grab a few photos and take a slow wander through ponds and trees. It is clear that the site is in need of more maintenance but in 2019 there were definitely some repairs being done. This is not a botanical garden but a wealthy family home donated to the public. As such it is obvious that it wasn't originally designed for public access and there are many interesting spots to explore. Perhaps the most unusual is a series of walk ways through a miniature mountain range. Worth a visit as the entry is only NT80

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We joined the 2:30 free guide tour and it was great. The guide was thorough and shared lots story. It was only in Chinese, but I think there's English guide tour that need booking. I had a great time imagine myself back in the 19th century.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nicely preserved establishment with guided tours departing regularly but you are welcome to roam on your own. Entry fee is NT$80. If you arrive in time, you can join the tour of the private villa, which is not accessible otherwise. This tour needs prior reservation and currently limited to 15 pax.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful Chinese-style garden where you can breathe some fresh air. One thing pity is that some areas are still under construction so we didn't get to see the whole of it.
The ticket price is 50% off (NT$40, original price NT$80) during the pandemic period.
