★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Go there early at 8-9am if you want to avoid the crowds and have the whole place to yourself. I went on a weekday and big groups started streaming in at 10am as i was returning to the entrance.
It's a pretty strenuous activity so I would recommend it for the physically fit only.
From the entrance, it's a 40 mins walk downhill (mainly staircases) to the sky ladder. Scenic views along the way which is reminiscent of Arashiyama's bamboo forest. The real challenge is the uphill climb back on the long flight of steps. It took about 1 hour to walk back to the entrance.
P.S. I did not complete the trail, turned back at the end of the sky ladder.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome views of the gorge and a waterfall. Sky ladder is pretty awesome! Tiring climb back up but worth it. $50 per person. Around 2 hour round trip walk. Bring water! Hard to get a bad photo here. Parking lot charges $100 per car.

But be aware that the path was a bit steep and it might not be convenient for elders
There’s a shuttle to go back up but you’ll still have to walk quite a bit
So probably not recommended for people who aren’t that comfortable walking too many stairs
