It too small, and environment doesn’t good. Too crowded! And there have one supervisor who called SODA CHANG, she doesn’t well. Because her’s lock policy doesn’t unreasonable. I have been here for three years, and never met this kind of situation. I wouldn’t renew my contract anymore!!

This is a nice gym. Sure, there are sports centers all over Taipei City with decent facilities, but I actually save more money with a True Fitness membership than I would paying 50 NTD each time. Do not let them charge you over 2000 NTD a month. They will propose a higher rate, although many foreigners might not be aware, this rate is negotiable! The rate should include access to the full schedule of classes. My membership is limited to the Guting location, but I believe for a higher fee, access to all of their centers is available under another type of membership plan. The locker rooms are clean, the staff courteous and friendly. They offer personal trainers; I've seen them working with foreign/western clients (so I would imagine some of them can speak English). Also, some of the yoga class instructors are from India and can speak English. If you have a Chinese instructor they will sometimes walk around the class and might speak to you personally in English (although the class would be taught for the most part in Chinese). But if you are well versed in yoga already, it's not hard to simply follow along with what everyone else is doing.

Locker room and shower area are pretty clean, and the staffs are friendly and helpful. The classrooms are pretty big, albeit some of the beams in the basement will obstruct your view). The multi-floor layout is a bit inconvenient though (check in counter on the ground floor, locker, towel service and weight training in the basement, cardio upstairs). Equipment are pretty well maintained, and I typically have no problem finding open equipment around rush hour.

BEWARE trying to get a membership at this gym. They try really hard to bait you in with the “if you’re a foreigner we won’t hold you to your full contract duration” and try to get you to sign stuff and go on. Afterwards if you want to cancel the membership as a foreigner they will ask for a resignation letter of some sort from your work place. Then you will get calls and offers to try and “pause” your membership indefinitely, but still take one more month of membership fees from your credit card without your consent. Still currently disputing the unauthorized credit card usage with the company. BEWARE. Honestly, you’re better off going to the one time public gyms around. If you do choose to go with them it’s important to note that the first prices they offer you are actually quite inflated. They start off with something ridiculous like 3-4000 NTD per months then drop the price according to how much they can gauge out of you. My price was circa 1300 NT/mo but you could probably get something lower if you tried. Should look or do some shopping around but all in all a ridiculously sticky and dodgy business.

True Fitness at this location is very nice, quality service, clean environment, high standard teachers, friendly users. Consultant Summer is very knowledgeable and helpful. She can assist me in many ways. I recommend people to come here.

Not sure what all the fuss is about. This gym has quality equipment and friendly staff. I've been a member for 6 years. They are open until midnight. It's quite clean. Very nice showers and locker room. It's a lot cheaper than USA gyms. And they will pause your account while you are travelling, saving you a lot of money when abroad. All gyms come with contracts and deals. Yes, their sales team is agressive, like car salesman. But that's normal, unfortunately. So yes, do your bargaining. I pay less that 1500 a month for full access. That's less than 2 bucks USD a day. A lot more for your buck than Starbucks ? My only complaints: Often too crowded during peak hours. If you can go off peak hours then you are golden. Best times (unless you are taking classes) 8-11am 2-5pm 9-midnight

A great place to workout. True yoga provides lots of professional spinning, yoga, and aerobic classes. The vibe is quite energetic! Really like to come here with friends to do exercise. ? Furthermore, my consultant Fiobe is very nice,

Absolutely a rip off. I read the reviews about how hard it was to cancel this membership, but thought I’d give it a shot. If you don’t want a headache, absolutely don’t join this gym! First off, signing up is like buying a house. They make you sign a bunch of documents as part of the contract. They don’t tell you how many documents because you probably wouldn’t sign up cause of the hassle. The price is absolutely up to how much they think they can charge you. They started at trying to charge me $16000NTD for one month. We settled with $4500NTD for one month + 3 personal training sessions. That’s still a lot. I can’t imagine how many people they tricked into paying more. I told them I only wanted to sign up for one month since I’m in town for that long. If I join, I want to only be a member for one month and without a recurring payment. I don’t want to come in and have to cancel in person. They agreed and asked to see my flight out of the country. I forwarded them that e-mail and they confirmed they received it. A month later, I get a text message about a recurring charge. I immediately cancel my credit card and then call up the gym. They don’t have anyone who speaks English on the phone so I went there in person. After getting a hold of someone they said they wanted more documentation on why I’m leaving Taiwan so I can quit the gym. I said, “No.” I’m a tourist. They wanted me to get an email from my job saying that I had to be back at work so I could quit the gym. Absolutely not involving anyone else into this. They still didn’t agree to cancel my membership so I cancelled my credit card and confirmed there are no recurring charges. About the gym, it looks modern from the outside but a lot of the equipment is a little worn and dirty. The place isn’t that big and the cram in all the exercise equipment where it’s too close to other people. The locker rooms have no air circulation/ventilation/air conditioning. Expect it to be incredibly hot and smelly in there. The building set up is awful. There's 3 floors and a basement level, so 4 in total. You can only take the elevator to go to the 2nd and 3rd floors. Seems weird that you can't take the stairs. And the elevator does not go to B1. So if you want to come in and do cardio. You check-in at the 1st floor, walk down to B1 to change in the locker room. Walk back up to the 1st floor. Then take the elevator to the 2nd or 3rd floor. The classes they hold are very packed. If you try to go to the gym between 6pm-9pm, expect to wait for machines. I know it’s the new year, but I experienced this issue in December. The personal training sessions were pretty good. I learned a lot about proper posture and how to use some of the machines. I ended up buying 1 more special training package. It included that the trainer would show me how to use any machine whenever they were available. I fell for this trap. The trainer was never available. Another red flag about the place will be trainers standing outside trying to solicit people to join. When I signed up they said they’d give me a deal on their Thanksgiving special. That’s nonsense. Thanksgiving is a US holiday. One day when I was working out, the trainer that signed me up came up to me. He was asking about my trip in Taiwan. I told him I was traveling with friends and then he said he’d give me 3 months free if I could get my friends to sign up. I would not want anyone to ever sign up for this sleazy gym. Be warned. There are A LOT of options in the area. Don’t waste your time, money or frustrations with True Fitness.
