Wulao Hotpot

Fresh, clean, luxurious setting and yes those come with the price. The broths come with a lot of herbs but it’s not too strong compare to other Mala Chinese Hotpot. This is the first time I tried hotpot in Taiwan, so to me the taste is milder here than other countries. They added unlimited duck blood and tofu to the pot for you so if you like those, don’t order too much meats. They already charged you for it. They will ask you if you want Tofu ice cream, my advice... don’t bother. It didn’t make the soup nicer nor it’s that great.

During our short trip to Taipei, we dined twice at this hotpot shop. This place looks classy. The food was of good quality, and choices were little but sufficient. The service was really good, staff are very attentive and always ready to clear plates and recommend. The tofu ice cream pot is the “must order dish”. It’s basically egg tofu but so yummy. Only 3 types of soup base were available. Each rich in ingredients. We ordered mala (not too spicy) and the non spicy soup. The soup comes with free flow bread tofu, something we’ve not had often. I love the lin long rolls, iberico pork, udon, and ice chrysanthemum tea. When done with the meal, they will serve an ice cold lime drink which is sweet and healthy, helping to cleanse the oil from hotpot. The experience was great, definitely easily one of the best I’ve had. Prices was reasonably ok, not cheap but worth it. Note there is one more outlet just outside Partyworld in XMD so if only we knew it earlier we would have dined there. Will be back!

Really authentic Taiwanese hotpot. Both the clear and spicy broth were flavorful on it’s own. The tender blood curd (no unpleasant/funky taste/smell) present in the mildy spicy broth is a must to try. The hotpot ingredients were fresh and plentiful. Would definitely come back again for one of the best hotpot in Taipei.

Amazing! The bone broth was amazing and my husband really enjoyed the mid spicy broth too. The frozen tofu that comes with the broth was the star for both of us. There’s a base price and you order dishes on top. Everything was amazing, service was incredible. Ends with complementary peach slush, so good. 90min limited dining time, we went at 8PM on a weekday and there was no wait. On our way out we saw customs leave because there was a 1 hour wait to 10:30. Reservation 24hr in advance highly recommended!

Comfortable decor, very attaintive services! The combo hot pot, both soup bases were very flavorful with fresh ingredients. The meats, fish balls and especially, the bread tofu were all tasty. Higher in prices, but offering high quality ingredients, good CP!

This hotpot place is very busy, when we were seated we were given return time 1 and a half hour (5 of us) which is very reasonable. They’re very fast in serving us and has given us bottles of soup to fill the pot, very efficient. I love coming here is because the soup base is amazing, very Taiwanese. Must try place in Taipei! Great and fast service, very friendly and accommodating staff, toilet is clean and hygienic. Highly recommend this place.

A modern looking and upscale hotpot joint that appears to be quite popular with the locals. This restaurant features 4 floors of service yet still manages to have a waiting line outside. The hotpot consists of only 2 soup bases, both of which are recommended for first times (spicy or tofu). The tofu is uniquely layered and not one you commonly find so it's definitely worth a try. Both soup bases are extremely fragrant, but remember, it'll set you back an extra 180NTD to have a mixed pot. All the other ingredients are extremely fresh and the portion sizes are huge (we completely over ordered - 6 dishes for 2 people). Our sliced lamb and fish/meat ball set was amazing .... And the crab legs were an interesting addition which we thoroughly enjoyed. Rice and sauces are unlimited. There is a limited choice in dipping sauce, but most of the time it wasn't needed as the soup flavors everything sufficiently.

The soup of the hotpot taste good. They put a lot of spices inside. The beef however was a bit disappointing. You can see for yourself on the picture. Very white in colour. The staff however does an amazing job and they were very helpful and friendly. It's an OK choice for hotpot but there are a plethora of high quality hotpots in Taipei....
