★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited this place with a Taiwanese Hakka friend so authenticity is guaranteed. This is my first time trying Hakka food which is really not very established like Cantonese, Shanghai, Northern Chinese cuisine. That being said, it really exceeded my expectations is every way.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hi Xiang Yuan Restaurant affords Hakka dishes/cuisines. Located near Hwa-San art culture creativity district.
There are several gourmet dishes recommended as below:
Rustic pickled chicken — The pickled chicken is from Miaoli Dabiao Jianshan farm, and the pickled chicken is carefully selected with only eight months old for the meaty sweet taste. The chicken is first simmered with rock sugar and salt water for 15 minutes. After cooling, seasoning with orange sauce bought from Kansai.
Sucking shrimp — The grass prawn, the sweet and sour red fish and the milky squid are used for the scent taste.
Dried scallops — The secret of this delicious dish is made with a special source from glutinous chicken broth.
Red bean peanut short grain rice pancake — There are two flavors of red beans and peanuts in a thin layer of crispy surface pancakes slices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A good traditional Hakka restaurant situated on the 2nd floor. Of the 3 dishes we ordered, it tasted good. The dishes we had is bittergourd with salted egg, fried egg with cai-po (a salty tasting vegetable), and three wine cup chicken. I highly recommend the three wine cup chicken.
